I started out in Martial Arts at the age of 7 and continued until I was 10 and then lost interest. At the age of 11, I was raped, beating. Things changed dramatically for me at that time. I was determined to never again let anyone offend me in that way so I recommitted myself to taking self defense, martial arts, and to compete until I was 17; earning my 1st black belt.
I have four beautiful and talented children. As well as a supporting and wonderful man in my life. Throughout the past 20 years, I opened and sold several companies. After receiving my Masters in Psychology, I studied human emotions for many years and wrote a book on the four human emotions that block happiness.
My credentials include D & G licenses, certifications on the 9-mm, M16, Shotgun, Anti- Terrorist Officer, Certified Close Combat Self Defense Instructor, Certified Modular, Gunting and Blade Instructor. Certification in Personal Protection, Corporate Security and Certified TRX Instructor, FEMA certified Emergency Planning Manager, Blast & Expostion Specialized.
When I was introduced to Grand Master Bram Frank, it took me only a few hours to realize I didn't know anything when it came to a real life attack. After 20 plus years of martial arts training I realized I had an art, a life experience of discipline and at least some advantage over most people. What I did not have was the simple skill set developed by modular training drilled into my brain to the point of being as automatic as walking or talking.
After training extensively under Grand Master Frank learning modular, tactical modular, Gunting, Modern Arnis and open hand close combat, there is no longer any doubt or fear that I could not protect myself in any situation.
When Grand Master Frank first introduced me to an edged tool, a knife; my first reaction was, “a knife, when am I ever going to carry a knife?” Once I realized the “knife” he was referring to: the Lapu Lapu Corto or the Tusok was not just a knife, it was a tool; a tool that I could use to defend myself open or closed. It became part of my skin. It fits on my side, in my bra or in my panties if I am wearing a dress. No one knows it is there. No one is able to see it. It is an equalizer for women.
I have talked to many women about self defense, and most say, "Well, I could never hurt anyone” or, “I'm not strong enough." My question to them is: “if you came home one day to find your babysitter gagged and then see your little 6-year old daughter with her panties ripped off and a 200lb man getting ready to rape her, could you hurt someone then?” One thing you need to realize is that if you are being violently attacked, you better react; and the only way to do that is with training. When you are under distress, men or women, your upper brain shuts down. All you know to do is what you were trained to do, like hammer, curl up in a fetal position, walk or maybe talk. What we teach is a simple modular system; so simple that by the time you leave our class you can go home and teach your own children. Will you gain improvement by continuing to train? Of course!
We teach LEO, Military and Civilians. We also have women's only classes, group classes, boot camp, Kids Edged Tool awareness programs, Corporate Seminars for employee awareness and boundaries, and training for security personal.
